Need HELP w/remote door locks!! Posted by Saabpilot [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Ok, so I have researched this and started my project on my '83 900 turbo. I replaced the driver's door switch with an actuator. Two problems here:
1) My driver's door lock switch had 4 wires not 3.
2) There is no power door lock module above the passenger's feet! I know where it is on my '87 and I have pulled these modules from scrapyard cars, but there is not one there on the '83.
Anybody have any suggestions? Does the switch in the driver's door on the '83 also function as the relay on this vintage car? The electrical diagram kind of indicates it might be the case. The wires on the plug for that original driver's door switch are as follows:
1) Green - 12 volt DC battery hot
2) White/Brown - unknown, definitely not battery switched and also no continuity with ground or any other circuit I can figure out.
3) Blue (presumably lock or unlock)
4) Brown (presumably lock or unlock)
I need help! The wiring is ripped apart and I'm stuck for suggestions. Does wiring the remote lock system into the passenger's side actuator make any sense? Or is there a standard Saab door lock module located somewhere else that I cannot locate?
