I found Dunlop SP Sport A2 (previously D60) to be very reasonably prices performers on both my 99 and 900. Good in wet, dry and corners. I have run these as 195/60 and feel they are the best all weather performers at a reasonable price. The don't slip in hard cornering, but feel resistant.

I ran Yokohama Avid V4 205/55 on my SPG. They were more expensive than the Dunlops but still inexpensive for high performance all weather tires. But these are not cheap tires, I was quite impressed. A step down from the Dunlops in the wet, but still quite safe. I was very happy with these tires, they held very well in a hard turn, without slippage or resistance.

I've been told 60 series will bump, but don't know from experience. The 205/55 fit fine.

To keep prices down I price the tirerack.com w/ shipping and get Discount Tire to match the price. This way I get a good price with the local shop warranty. I'd call around and see who will match the price.
