Is that 8 or 16 V? You might want to check the compression. Also a thorough cleaning and air leak check of the intake and throttle body is advised. How's the timing? A seriously carbonized head/valves can also cause a difficult cold warm-up, what to speak of any vacuum leaks. Is there 12volts getting to the warm-up regulator (if 8V)? All sorts of wiring issues (internal harness insulation decaying) with the 85 is also a matter to consider.
