hey all!
just wanted to share my joy at finally (well, for now anyway) completing my suspension upgrades on my '89 900T 5-spd. ive been running intrax for about 6 or 8 months now, and I finally got my red koni adjustables on today (after wrestling with the front bolts for hours, and finally resorting to the grab-the-old-shock-and-break-the-s*$t out of it method) plus my trusty mechanic sold me a set of SPG wheels with pirelli P4000's. car handles like it's new, all the bouncy-ness is gone, nice and tight but not too stiff. I may yet play around with the koni settings, but for now i'm keeping the back at 1 and the fronts at 2.
BUT all this is well and good until something goes wrong, so what should i look out for? i plan to keep an eye on the bolts, particularly up front, to make sure they stay tight. the rear axle also fought me when i tried to reattach it to the body (ended up dropping it to get the old shocks out), and when i got it back on, the drivers side wheel looked a little crooked, like it was pointing ever so slightly towards the car's center, but then again i could be nuts......i think i'm somewhat of an automotive hypochondriac. anyway, any ideas about what's possible to have done wrong back there, if anything? i made sure the axle was never used as a jacking point.....maybe i'm just too psyched for it and i figured it's never this easy with a saab, something else MUST be wrong....:-D
anyway, thanks! sorry for the length, it's been a LONG day of slaving under those wheel wells and i thought i should share it with you all.
next up.....aero kit.....3.0 FPR.....injectors......we all know the list goes on.....
PS: thanks a million, GM, for shipping those koni's so gosh darn fast! :-D
