'88 900 TC.
I discovered last night that the inner lip of the manifold bushing that supplies vacuum to the brake booster apparently broke off at some point and presumeably made it's way to cylinder #4 (or is it #1, can't remember off hand, anyway, the one next to the firewall).I'm not aware of any ill effects and assume it simply burned up in the combustion chamber. I have noticed some intermittant "valve train like" noise at 2500 rpm but haven't actually confirmed source yet. Seems like the only potential damage could have come from a valve stem being bent if the bushing happened to be between the valve and seat as the valve was closing.
Would think damage of that sort would be more obvious than an intermittant
noise. Wishfull thinking? Please give me any thoughts you may have on this. Especially you professional mechanics or someone who's experienced the same thing.
Thanks.
