My first encounter with SAABnet was about a month before we moved here. I had just gotten an '88 turbo and was asking about how they would fare in HotLanta and about how on earth a good Yankee like myself (with a last name of Sherman) would ever learn to speak the lingo. One of the regulars (whose handle I have long forgotten) suggested going to Waffle House to absorb the local flavor, as it were.
Ya know, they're fun places and the people are pretty nice. The one we usually go to is kind of international - our usual waitress was Guatemalan, the hostess is probably Ethiopian, the manager has a good German name. It's pretty neat.
When we were in Asheville, we were waiting in a packed WH and when we passed up a table in the smoking section, a gent in a kilt (I kid you not) turned with a smile and said that we'd probably have to be prepared to wait a long time. We all had a good laugh together.
How hilly is it where you live in WV?
