Camm,
Hope all is going well with you and your project!
The GARRETT T3 turbocharger compressor wheels should be easily removed from the turbine shaft after shaft nut removal and you might assume that your results are normal. We typically find that the compressor wheel will be more difficult to remove if oxidation, carbon, deposits, etc. are allowed between shaft and compressor wheel.
Cracks at the turbine housing wastegate port is normal although these should not exceed the "hair line" status and should not extend inward toward the turbine outlet port. If attempting to replace a damaged housing, a high nickel alloy casting can go a long way in eliminating potential future cracking via thermal expansion.
We would not recommend cleaning the oil inlet plumbing by hand as this may lead to wall deposit break-down which will allow for such deposits to enter the turbocharger oil inlet. If the turbocharger internals are clean and free of foreign materials, you might not need to worry about cleaning the oil inlet pipe. If internal deposits are visible, it may be necessary to install a new or clean oil supply pipe. If attempting to clean the OEM pipe, it will be well worth the expense of having this steam cleaned(hot tank)at your local machine shop.
Best of luck and regards,
Gary at WWW.SaabPerformanceParts.com
