I'm a big believer in letting a car warm up for a little bit, especially in cold weather. Oil doesn't lubricate very well when cold, so letting the engine run without a load - idle - lets the oil get to the various places it needs to be, and have a chance of lubricating them, too. Also stuff has a chance to get even a little warm, and at least start to get to the tolerances they should be. Yes, you're going downhill, but you'll be bringing the engine up to above idle RPM, and putting a load on it instantly. Is this going to kill the engine in a week? No. Will it take a little more off the end-of-life? Yes.
Other items - All is good if the engine catches right away. If it doesn't, then you're using the engine as a brake. That will stress the cranksahft and mounts. And if you keep rolling, you've got no brake boost or power steering assist. So if everything works great, it's great - but if it doesn't start, it may get 'interesting,' and not in a good way.
My biggest issue though is with the total lack of warm-up and lack of lubrication under load.
