Ok i have a 88 900t with a manual transmission. Lastnight me and a freind were messing around and i dropped down to third and made a nice half red pull... rolling on and off the throttle messing with his slow eclipse (haha) Anyway i slowed down and put it in fifth and i noticed this sound like someone beating something under there with a hammer and it continued as i went home. I messed around with it trying to figure out what it was and pushing in the clutch made it stop and the faster you go the more it clunks and the harder you hit the gas the louder it clunks. Turns dont seem to have an effect on it and the transmission still feels normal and pulls in all gears (even though i was too chicken to floor it again). I wanted to say it was the drive axle but i push in the clutch and it goes away.. I had though it maybe the inner universal joint but if that was broken would it not make the noise just as loud at lower speeds too? Thanks alot.
