I got a good deal on a fire truck!

The rescue squad my girlfriend is in need a new truck for the crash team. We decided on a whim to try out E-bay, and we found the FDNY was selling a 1989 Pierce Arrow that would do perfect. Very few people bid on it, and we ended up getting the truck for $2000, sight unseem. Upon flying up to New York to get it, we found despite it was a 14 year old truck, it was in remarkably good condition and a real steal. With only 60,000 miles on it, the only things that were wrong with it were a broken cab air conditioner, and a leaky oil cooler hose. Me, my GF, and two other rescue workers drove the the thing all the way back to VA and it proved itself definitely worthy.
Once home, we painted it up to match the squad's colors, cleaned it up, and stocked it with our rescue gear. In the past two years we've owned it, the truck has been flawless. We use it to assist the fire department in structure fires, automobile crashes, river rescues, and all sorts of stuff. If we were to buy something like this new, it would have cost the squad well over 80K.
I imagine though, individual owners would not be anywhere near as trustworthy as the FDNY!!!
