I think E-Bay Motors started out as a noble experiment--the basic deal was that the sellers would describe the cars acurately, in return for purchasing the car sight unseen, the buyer got the car for low retail. Unfortunately it's degenerated into a dumping ground for cars sleazy used car dealers can't sell to anyone who actually sees the car. A lot of these guys make money from the non-refundable deposits and can list them as many time as it takes. And they have ways of getting around getting negative feedback. There are still some nice cars on E-Bay, but they are few and far between. The other thing you are witnessing is (drum roll please) the slight APPRECIATION of Classic Saab 900's. They are getting harder and harder to find while demand is starting to go up. As a dealer specializing in European cars under $5K I'm finding that in a market where the resale value of everything is dropping like a rock, older Saabs in general are doing well and Classic 900's even better.
