Hello everyone! I've been lurking about and reading this board, as I am close to buying my first Saab and now I would like some opinions. It's a 1990 900 Turbo, 2dr. It has 108k, the leather seats have no tears, just a bit of a worn look to the drivers side. The carpet is immaculate. The dash has a crack (which doesn't seem out of the ordinary), some of the trim on the dash is peeling away, just a little bit. Everything seems to work, the windows, electric sunroof, and the heated seats, etc. Outside, there are a few trim issues, but, it looks to be all original paint and the body seems straight.

I started it up and let it run for about 10 minutes, to check for smoke, none evident. I took it for a ride and the car drove wonderfully. I am not used to a hydraulic clutch, though, my foot just about went through the floor. *smile*

I checked for leaks after my test drive and found none. There does seem to be a bit of oil residue on the bottom part of the block, though. No noises, except for a bit of a belt sqeal. And the alternator has some rust on the bolts.

The turbo pulled just fine and I couldn't determine anything wrong there, either.

The original binder, for the manual, was still in the car, minus the manual . The car was originally bought in Cali, according to the business card in it.

They are asking only 1,950 for it. I am drooling with anticipation, but, am a bit suspicious. That price seems too low!

Is there any advice that you can give to a hopeful first time owner of a car that I've wanted since I was in High School, er...that'd be in the mid 80's.

Does it sound too good to be true?
