Thanks for the insight, Ari! I've seen many posts re: the pump test to determine if ABS accumulator is good, going, or gone, but could never really picture what part or process, in particular, was being tested.
So can I assume that an ABS system that gets a 'going' on the pump test (light comes on after, say, 8 pumps) is slowly filling the gas space with brake fluid? There must be gaskets that contain the pressurized gas on the other side of the diaphram, so that might be another cause for failure...
Just thinking out loud. I actually did the pump test on my '93 a couple of weeks ago. Even after 20 hard pumps I couldn't get the light to go on (insert double entendre here), not sure what that means except that if it ain't broke, I sure as hell ain't fixin' it.
