87 900 rear brakes

I am in the process of trying to replace the rear pads and disk on my 87 900 (down to metal on metal).
It looks like the calipers are held on by two 19mm hex head bolts, is that correct, or am I missing something.
I have sprayed WD40 all over the rear of the calipers, but those two bolts are both completely stuck. Would heating up the calipers with a blow torch be a very bad idea ?
Is there any other trick to removing them, or am I doing this all wrong ?
Looking around on the net I have found instructions and exploded for replacing latter models brakes, but none for an 87. Help here would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
