Hey again,
Im not sure what spring you are talking about... heres what I did.
I took out the passenger side seat because there is more room working from that side... pretty easy, just 2 bolts in the front and two in the back... then I took the center console out from the shifter all the way back. I took the shifter off next. The biggest pain in the butt was those 3 three sided nuts. I used a set of needle nosed plyers and a lot of four letter words... then when it was all loose I rotated the whole housing 90 degrees so that the shifter would have been sticking out into the drivers leg room. Then I took out the screws that hold on the white plastic dish on the bottom front of the shifter housing... it protects the linkage. After that I could take the whole shift housing out and put the one I got from the junk yard in. Just do everything in reverse. I replaced the 3 sided nuts with ones from a hardware store. Make sure you get those tightened down well... I didnt and it was a real bear to shift because the houseing was sliding all around.
Hope this helped
-Ben
