A well maintained Saab with that many miles could have plenty of life left--there are Saab owners on the site who have 500K miles on their cars. An indifferently maintained car with that many miles may be just looking for a place to die. Your mission, should you accept it, is to determine which scenario fits this car. Saabs are very well built cars and can be deceptive--the body work and interiors can look gorgeous, and they can still drive quite nicely even when they need a couple of thousand dollars worth of work. If you don't know what to look for, pay someone who does--ie. a Saab mechanic. The final piece of the puzzle is how much they want for it. I sold an '89 turbo convertible with 115K this fall for $1750. I wouldn't pay more than $1000 to $1200 for one with 193K unless all the major components have been rebuild--with good documentation.
