For 1990 the driver's seat heater is controlled by the heated seat rheostat/switch below the headlamp control.
The passenger seat is thermostatically heated when it is occupied.
First, a butt-mass sensor switch closes when someone sits in the seat. It's a spring-loaded black thing mounted in a chain going from the seat grid to the seat frame. Pretty simple- continuity when someone sits there, otherwise it's off.
Second, a thermostat turns off the seat heater grid after the butt-area temperature gets over, say, 82 celsius or something like that. That's so you don't roast away in the summer. This thermostat is the size of a watch battery and is located just under the fabric or leather seat cover to sense temperature.
Connectors for seat heater power are in a fitting in the seat frame underneath the seat on the inside end. It should be a pair of two-pin rectangular connectors.
Diagnosis: Check the fuse, then pull the connectors and check for battery power with the key on, then check the buns-presence switch for its operation, then check that the thermostat closes when it's cold. If all those things work, then there is a break in the seat heater grid. This requires removal of the lower seat cover, which isn't that tough. Typical failures are first, breaks in the heater grid, second the thermostat, and a distant third being everything else.
I agree with you on the stereo; Turbos had a 100 watt stereo that year; I got one out of a junkyard. I use the annoying CD adaptor thing, which doesn't work very well. An FM transmitter inside your car would let you pick up whatever you're beaming out. On the plus side, it may trip off other peoples' radar detectors, I think??? Could be fun, I remember an article entitled "Trolling For Taillights" with someone trying that with a mini microwave generator, I guess they fired that off and the guy zipping by in the Porsche would slam on his brakes hard after the detector lit up like a Christmas tree, with additional points assessed for rubber laid, lane changing, etc.
