I would remove the valve cover and check to be sure the mechanical cam timing is still good. Turning the crank with a socket in a clockwise direction allows the chain tensioner work on the slack side of the chain. Check and recheck...this mechanical timing is important. Turning by the cams is not the same as turning by the crank. The Crank is the driving shaft, the cams are driven shafts. To jump a few teeth on the cam spockets is easily done by removing the tensioner. Install the tensioner and recheck the timing again. Just be sure the sealing washer is in place when everything looks good, otherwise you will have an oil leak.
