You should be able to feel the boost kick in when accelerating. I usually feel it in fourth gear. The car seems to just pull away on it's own( a great performance feeling). My 88, which is all stock, peaks at the high end of the orange. I have only had the car for 2.5 years and I think it's only pushed to red (just over) maybe once or twice. I don't know if thats a indication of weak boost for me, but I certainly can feel it kick in. I have a friend who has a 90 CVT turbo with his APC modified and he gets about a quarter or so into the red. Not really good for the car though, I think. My 88 has 90,134 orginal miles.
If your not feeling anything significant then maybe you should have it checked out. Try out some other Saab 900 CVTs turbo for comparsion.
