Ok, reading all of these, I am now curious about mine. It will be interesting to see what the car actually is: because I know the only way is to run the VIN,
I have an 85, that is supposed to be an SPG, I bought it from a saab mechanic, when i bought it the turbo didn't work, the body is beautiful, and I got a ton of parts including a motor from a second spg that he had that was in a wreck. I fell in love with the car so I don't really care if it is an SPG or not but rather want to see if I was lied to. I suspect that it is an 85 turbo, and he moved all kinds of parts from the crashed SPG to it. He mentioned putting in a red box spec computer; and new style spg springs so it rides more like a late model spg. He didn't know what was wrong with the turbo but I was able to figure it out and get it working in a couple of hours and I am no means a mechanic and new to saabs.
In an earlier post someone said that going by the fuel label, unleaded only or premium unleaded only. I have an unleaded fuel only sticker so I am also curious to see if this statement can be discounted.
my last 8 digits on my VIN for my 85 are: F1027134
thanks, Ryan
