Well I have never done a head on a NA but here's what Posted by Inga [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 900s head swap, Jim G, Wed, 4 May 2005 22:27:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I do know about the head. A 900t head is different from the na heads. duh right. Well the cams on a turbo are also diff. I just got my 900t head back from getting a valve job and resurfacing. I also took the intake and intake cam from a NA head to put in my turbo head. The reason, the NA cam will allow more air to pass threw for better boosting. "I" would not rec the turbo head because think the timing may be a bit off and your going to get less power as a result. Will it fit? I think it will. I am unsure of the gasket question because I know there are holes in the block that will get covered over by the gasket. This was done on purpose to allow the coolant to travel where it might be needed the most.
The heads were improved post 88. All pre 88 have the oil lines on top the cams. The post 88's were changed to allow for oil to pass threw cam bearing caps. Those are supposed to be better, and your right the head rebuilt kit would be different too. My kit for my new 87 head needed those fittings from the kit.(Bad)
