i bought an 86 too, yanked the NA engine and its become my project car. i've swapped in an 86 SPG dash to get the APC functionality.
I've also had the engine block remachined and have put 83 900T pistons in the block with an SPG crankshaft and Vandervell bearings and OEM chrome rings. The idea is to have an SGP notchback, with the engine set up to handle higher boost levels. As i get funds i hope to put on some HP components to boost it up higher than stock performance. Intake, head work, exhaust, turbo, etc.
Your goals may and probably are different. They are unique, but highly impractical having a trunk and two doors...
