I figured out a trick with O2 sensor removal tools...

...maybe others have discovered it too. As we all know, the tool has a slot in it to allow passage over a wire. That slot unfortunately allows the O2 tool to widen under load, stripping the O2 sensor as the tool itself slips about the hexagonal bolt.
Well, I had to change the 2 freakin' sensors in my Jeep ZJ. I bought a hardenned steel crow's foot O2 sensor removal tool, and I put it in place. Then I placed a Vice Grip around the tool. The vice grip tightenned the tool down so that it held firm to the Hex rather than slipping off. I then used a 1/2 inch ratchet drive and a 3 foot helper pipe over the ratchet, and the O2 sensors unscrewed "like a charm." I was surprised as I expected a nightmare after what I have gone through with my turbos.
Now I know that with a turbo, the O2 sensors on our Saabs can be bears, but I think that this is a way at least for the N/A guys to take a try at removal of the sensor without going to extreme measures. I still think the best way to pull a turbo O2 sensor is by removing the downpipe "elbow" and using a Craftsman box wrench or by shearing off the top of the sensor with a grinder and then using an impact wrench, as the turbo sensors lock down super tight due to the heat. This might work for the turbo too, but I still think there will be too much flex in the system.
