two other checks to help confirm a head gasket leak:
pull your plugs - if any one or two are much much cleaner than the others, that's a good bet you have coolant leaking into your combustion chamber.
while engine is warm and running, observe expansion tank for a stream of bubbles under higher (3000) RPMs.
Bad news is that Headgaskets involve a lot of labor from a mechanic - from $800 to $1200. On the other hand, you can DIY if you have the skill and tools, for less than $300...
Just did mine, and I found the repair not too difficult, just alot of pieces to disassemble/reassemble.
