Bentley is quite good for the Headgasket procedure.
Definitely read what Townsend has to say at his site:
http://www.townsendimports.com
He is a strong proponent of switching to the lower temp thermostat and thermoswitch, and using non-green coolant.
I also found the procedure at http://www.saabsite.com another useful reference, and Jeff and Royce have some nice pictures of what to expect:

You'll definitely need a good torque wrench, and the only special tool is the External Torx E16 socket for the headbolts - I picked up a set of external torx from Sears for $20. It's nice to have a helper when removing/installing the cylinder head.
I read all the literature I could find, had all tools ready, ordered all parts from eeuroparts.com, took my time triple checking everything, and the job went very smoothly.
Good luck to you, and let us know how it goes!
Jonathan
