Low voltage, idling problems, etc.

Lately the voltage shown on my autometer guage has been getting lower. It never goes up above 12, but seems to stay above 11 pretty consistently. I'm assuming it's the brushes in the alternator wearing down. Is their any other part of the alternator that can fial? Also, I found a brush set on The Saab Site for 4 dollars, is that all you'd need?
My other problem is a weird high idle situation. Car usually starts up and idles fine, but after driving a bit the idle will come up, sometimes to about 1500-2000 rpms. I've tested the AMM and AIC with the voltmeter and they both seem fine. The 30 lb. FMS injectors are brand new, and the chip was burnt by Jak. Any suggestions? Thanks.
