I have always admired the kind of folks that can make headers from scratch. I would never have the patience. I have a non-turbo motor. They have a very thick flange (almost 3/4") and instead of having 1 single flange, to ensure everything lines up, it has 3 flanges, which ends up needing lots of persuassion.
The converter is the catalytic converter. They usually have bolts on the back mounting, and studs welded on the front. Theses studs had corroded down to less than 1/8" diameter and could not be re-used. My crappy Chinese drill went the way of the Crappy Chinese Saws-all blades, almost self destructing. I think they get dull by being in close proximity to metal, but are great for balso wood.
