I installed a Momo wheel & hub on my '90 SPG. I just left all the SRS stuff in place - except of course for the air bag steering wheel. Note though, that I needed to machine the Momo hub to get it to work w/ the rotating horn contacts and signal canceller. Your other option would be to swap the steering column w/ a non-SRS column. ... or simply go w/o a steering wheel mounted horn.
First thing to do is disconnect the battery - just to make sure you don't trigger the air bag. Next, remove the air bag. This is held to the steering wheel by two torx head screws on the backside of the steering wheel. To remove the steering wheel, disconnect the horn wiring (plastic connector) and loosen the hex nut in the center of the wheel until it almost ready to come off(i think it was a 19mm socket size). Now bang, push, pull, whatever you need to do to get the wheel off the column. The reason to leave the center hex nut on is so when the wheel breaks loose, it doesn't come flying at your face. At this point, you will see the round black plastic piece used for the rotating horn connection and signal cancellor. Like I said above, I machined my Momo hub to work with this piece. I also soldered the plastic wire connecter from the SRS wheel onto the Momo wheel, so I could use the existing horn wiring harness as is. Also, I pulled the SRS light, which you can easily get at if you remove the left speaker. Good Luck.
