Since I got it 2 years ago the ac in my 87 C900 8V has never blown cool air. Everything seems to work but no cool air. After reading the ac boards and doing some troubleshooting I think I may have a restriction. Here's what I get
Static Reading: L=78 H-105
AC running on hi- L-15HG vac, Hi=115
The line from the drier to Evaporator is cool with the fitting at the evaporator frosting up when the ac is running.
The line from the evavorator to compressor is cool toward the evaporator and gets hot the closer you get to the compressor.
I did not replace the drier. I guess I should have since I have one but after the the deep vac I figured there was no leak and didn't want to open up the system. Looking at the site glass with a powerful flashlight I really can't see much of anything. The glass appears to be brownish from inside and I do not see any movement. There appears to be a couple of bubbles around the edge of the glass but thats all I can make out.
I have a sniffer and it doesn't indicate any leaks. I don't see any sighs of one visually as every fitting and hose is bone dry. I've added almost 3 12oz cans of r12 to the system and still no cold air.
Does it sound like a clog in the system? At the evaporator? Should I open up the system and replace the drier and flush everything out and replace the orings while I'm there? I'm getting more and more determined to get this thing working. Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
