I've owned 2 C900s and driven countless others so I'm well acquainted...
The C900 had a few models: first 87-88:
900: Few options aside from A/C...all have the 8 valve 110hp SOHC engine.
900S: A much more appealing model with the following standard features: 16 valve 125hp DOHC engine, cruise, power windows, manual sunroof, heated seats, deluxe cloth interior, an upgraded stereo and sound system, and alloy wheels.
900 Turbo: All of the features of the 900S plus: Turbocharged 160 hp engine, leather interior, and power sunroof.
900SPG: A true classic with sport aero package, 3 spoke alloys, leather shift boot, and 185 hp? (I am not sure of this figure but I know the computer is tuned for better output from the 900T)
The 3 door is available in all trim levels, the 4 door in all but the SPG, and the convertible in Turbo and SPG trims.
From 89 til the last c900 in 93, the 16V DOHC engine was standard. (89 was also the last year of the 4 door turbo model) From 90-91 the options remained the same except leather became standard on the 900S. In 92 a non turbo 900 convertible became available.
The right C900 depends on your use. I used my 88 900 3 door to run a mowing business! I was able to fit 2 push mowers, 2 weed eaters, gas cans, all in the back (with the seat down) and had room to spare. For typical around town and interstate driving a 900S 3 door would be a great bet. However, the turbo is a much more desirable and collectable car...and if you find a good SPG for under 4k...get it!
If you need any other info let me know
