pull up the decklid gasket. About 2/3 of the way towards the front, there is a seam on each side. The overlap between the panels is the reverse of what roof shingles are so, when the sealant eventually shrinks and fails, water streams in.
It took me months to figure out why water was getting into the trunk of my 4-door. After removing the taillights and sealing around them and looking at every other thing (and still getting a wet drunk), I saw those seams, sealed them with some silicone, and the water never returned. It's worth a try.
