Hmm.... That could be a couple things Posted by Inga [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: 1988 window fuse keeps blowing, Bobby in Tampa, Tue, 23 Aug 2005 17:59:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Like stated above, I'd make sure the contacts are good and clean. I'd also make sure the contacts for the switch are clean too.
Doe it happen when you ise both windows at the same time or do you use one at a time. I'm a double punch kinda guys bot at the same time.
Could be that you have a short in the wire and it grounds out when ever. (Which would explain the random blown fuse.) I'd start to look for the short in the fender wells by thwe fuse box. (Small opening. Look way down into it and you should see the wire for the motor going into the door. They may have just been pinched!
Might move from there into the door panel it's self. Look in and around the motor and so forth. (I dout it's in there, but who knows)
If your not very savy with cars. I'd pull all the switches out but 1. (drivers side) drive around a couple days and see if that one holds. Then move out from there. I only have 2 windows so mine would be easy. You may have up to 4 so that would take a bit longer.
