Auto Trans Rear Pan clearance? Posted by Paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul) on Wed, 14 Sep 2005 06:51:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi:
I am re-sealing both Auto Transmission Pans. When removing the rear pan, it was an extremely tight (slip) fit to remove it between the transmission and the cross-member. I am trying to be prepared to re-install the pan with new gasket etc and it concerns me that I can't imagine being able to get the pan & gasket bakt in there without a good possibility of damaging something. Just anothe 14/" clearance would make all the difference.
So I am wondering if perhaps there is some other problem, like bad motor mounts allowing the trans to sit just a bit lower than it should? Or?
Is there a safe point that I could just sligtly lift from below to increase this clearance?
Thanks,
Paul
