AMM problem solved

It wasn't the AMM... I adjusted the resistance but it was only off by three clicks.
I was about fifteen minutes into replacing the vacuum lines with silicone tubing when I found the problem... While replacing the line running from the T -fitting by the dipstick to the bypass valve, I discovered that the large tube that runs from the throttle housing to the bypass valve was disconnected at the valve end. Awhile ago, my mechanic had replaced the fitting hooking the valve to the turbo because it was cracked and I had him put in a new valve while he was at it. The only thing he did wrong was to leave the original plastic slide clamp on the throttle housing tube ...I guess the turbo blew it off. It never occurred to me to look there because of the recent work done but as it turns out, it was probably the first place I should've checked.
I replaced the clamp with a metal clamp, finished up that vacuum run and held my breath while I started the engine. Cold start problem solved - it's perfect now. Then, I took it for a run around the block and the boost level is back where it's supposed to be. All is well in Hootervalveville.
Thanks to all you guys for your great ideas and advice and your help in letting me feel a great sense of accomplishment in solving a perplexing problem... sure is good to have my SPG running like it's supposed to again... actually, it's running better than it has for a long time with all the new parts it's gotten in the process of trying to find a fix.
Thanks....J
