I don't expect to see a lot of boost in first because of low RPM. The turbo isn't spining that quick until after 3k rpm or about. I have a 3 bar with a Swedish Dynamics RRFPR. I've seen 33 mpg over a whole tank. But I didn't do any boosting and I drove like a granny. When you are crusing, the LH computer is running in closed loop lambda control so you aren't running rich when you are crusing just because you have a higher fuel pressure regulator. It's only when you are WOT that the higher fuel pressure helps out. At WOT, if the computer is doing it's job, it should be enriching the A/F mixture to about 12/1, and yes you will be sucking down more gas. If you only have stock injectors, then you should probably get larger ones if you want to run more boost. Otherwise you may be running lean which will harm your engine. The RRFPR will give you even more fuel pressure at higher boost but as other's put it, its just a "band aid" to enrichening the mixture.
