Because it takes quite a bit of leak before you get exhaust fumes into the coolant so that the "sniffer" or leak dye can pick it up.
At this point we only know that is it some leak from the head gasket but not how much.
Running the car with a partial clogged up radiator will for sure put more stress on everything so that's why you should start there and also maybe put a new thermostat and fan switch in at the same time if it hasn't been replaced recently.
