Wax/rubber wing suggestion..... Posted by vsfoxe [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: rubber wing, 87 900TC CAL, Sat, 8 Oct 2005 10:17:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've had some decent success cleaning that waxy residue from my SPG and 9-5 using Windshield Cleaner (Rainex Glass Cleaner & Stoner's Invisible Glass) and an old toothbrush. Somewhat labor intensive, but successful. Be careful, however, to stay off painted surfaces - can scratch it (but it was a repainted surface, so not certain about OEM paint).
Re-Treating it? I'm not certain anything works as desired. Cleaning the whole surface might be the best answer. Tried: Peanut Oil, "Back-To-Black" (Mother's ?), "Black Chrome" (Turtle wax?). Haven't tried Thompson's Water Seal, Wurth products. All seem to have drawbacks, so I've reverted to good cleaning and be happy!
Good Luck!
