Well, see it this way. If your old car have been good to you for 270K miles it means that you have taken care of it and it is no telling how long it will keep on going. It might be another 200K miles or more.
The other Saab with 98K "could" break down the day after you buy it since you don't know the service history of it.
If you are looking at the V6 engine is is very possible for the timing belt to break (ruining the engine, and car) if it has not been replaced using proper procedures in the last 60K miles.
Search for timing belt on the NG900/9-3 board to learn more.
Headlights staying on is the daytime running light feature that has been mandatory for many years in Sweden and have now come to US with the NG900 and up cars.
