The essential problem is that their gap is so huge that they only function with ignition systems designed for gaps of .040" or larger. I first tried them in an '85 Subaru and they were great (factory plug spec. was .044"), then I put them in the #2 daughter's '90 900S and there were low speed problems, so I made myself a little jig with a piece of drill rod to bend the electrodes in to get the gap down to about .055" -- that solved the problem. In an '83 Toyota Celica (.036" gap spec), they were fine as long as the plug wires were right on spec for resistance but were very sensitive to clean cap and wire connections, and in the wife's '95 Mercury Villager (Nissan V6 with .044" gap, I think) they were great.
