On my 88 SPG, I also have the upgraded APC box and 24# injectors (blue series?) But after installing a BIGI RRFPR with my 3 bar FPR, I get way better performance (power) than without. But I also think my water injection helps alot with boost especially with stock IC. With these mods, I can run 19 deg advance with stock 5 deg vac retard and 87 octane gas (avg 28mpg). I'm planning on dynoing it to check my AFR. I'd like to get Jak's chip, but I'm spending to get my 96 AERO up to stage 4.

Other cheap mods that I did was make a solid front motor mount, throw away all that heavy rubber floor padding and put in light aluminum covered bubble wrap padding, redo the headliner but put in heat shield material between the roof and headliner (I cut up some reflective dash shield and taped it to the roof with aluminum tape). The other things I did to make the car a little lighter was remove the rear seat, and lighten the cracking dashboard by cutting off the heavy padding and polishing it with a wire wheel. I then put a felt dash cover to hide the very bright dashboard. Everything helps and it didn't cost anything.
