Second! Try running the car through a car wash and you'll think your radiator was leaking. I think it gives the car a movie-esque special effects feel for a while.
Or if I don't like it, I'll turn on the cooling fan with the switch (formerly AC) on the dash.
The lack of heat is most likely the bypass valve. Since the one on my '92 is leaking (on the alternator, that doesn't help) and Saabs were made for 30 years without those things (life goes on) and they have a habit of dissolving internally (completely bypassing the heater) and the heater hose setup looks like spaghetti (mmmmmm, pisketty) I'm about to remove the valve completely. I really shouldn't need a cold-weather-specific bypass valve on my summer convertible. So out it goes! No AC, no bypass valve, what else do I have to do to this car? Oh, right. The heat shield. Stay tuned.
