I think the issue of the problem with the weakness in a weld is best covered with a combination of 5314 [Material Strengths] and 501 [Molecular Physics]. You combine these 2 nut busters and then things become clear. The suggestion of a shorter shift rod interests me and brings me back to the
Pre-Euro or Neoclassical Euro Period, when I was driving new cars that had names like "Hurst-Olds," with a Short Throw Hurst Shifter. This idea would suggest a shifting mechanism with a lot more guts than the present system. Ah! The smell of burning tires, high test gas at 27 cents/gallon and slamming gears on back country roads. Where do I learn more about this SHORT SHIFT solution. Also, would there be much difficulty in installing the new shifting system in this 93 900S Non
Turbo ? Who has them and where could I read about their application ? Thanks Wild Bill
