The bucking I mentioned in 1st or 2nd is when the car is idling and the clutch engaged. It is normal that the engine hunt for its idle so to speak with a load on a straightaway. I normally dont do this, but to see what the tranny or drive train slop was--it is easy to see (as with most manuals) there is no slippage since there is no torque converter. So giving it some throttle and letting off--or just letting the car idle in gear--may give me some indication.
I love the car but am attempting to replace it soon with a newer SAAB.
Mine has the nice gauge package by the way. Gauges say SAAB, vs. VDO--oil temp, volts, oil press. Even though the gauges say SAAB--VDO probably made them--but didnt see that many cars with the SAAB (vs. VDO) package.
Just a little diverging here.
