Yea I've heard of people gluing them on but I've never encountered one that I couldn't pull off or pry off (like Kip said). The knock detector tells the APC brain to open the turbo wastegate and reduce boost when it detects knocking. It doesn't have any way of preventing the car from starting and a knock detector problem will only be evident when you are boosting. Align the rotor key carefully and push it on. They fit tight. Make sure that you align the dust seal under the dist. rotor carefully before putting the cap on and be careful of the hall effect connector. It is very fragile and easily broken. Hard to fix.
