I suspect you have a bad battery cable. Take your jumper cables and do the negative side first. Clamp onto the battery (-) and then to the motor. Start the engine and get out your voltmeter. Any charging activity? If yes, then you have a bad ground cable. If no, then let's check the positive side of things. Clamp onto the starter big (+) terminal, might be tough to get at, but it can be done and then to the battery (+). Start the engine...any charging activity? If yes, then you have a bad positive cable. If no, then you need to look some where else, like the big wire on the alternator to be sure it's not faulty (use jumper cable method here too). I have had instances where the battery cables look great with their heat shrink and feel like a good connection. After doing the jumper cable method, it turned out the copper ground wire was down to one strand, due to corrosion and the heat shrink made it look like everything was A-OK. Tell us what you find out. Thanks.
