Some of you might remember that I burned an exhaust valve on my 91 900NA with about 180k miles. The deposits in that cylinder head looked different from the other three so the question was what caused the valve to burn; did the valve not have a good seal and had it been leaking slowly over a long time and creating a hot spot until it finally burned or was something wrong with the fuel injector which caused a lean condition which then led to the deposits and overheating of the valve. I did some searches on this board and the consensus was that these injectors are very robust and really don’t need any TLC.

Then I got some very good references from another site for witchhunter. It is incredible what they do for $15 per injector. They give a good description on the bottom of their home page where they say “click here to see the cleaning process”. I figured for that money at least I would get peace of mind, and that is exactly what I got.

I shipped them Tuesday last week and got them back yesterday. They received them on Thursday and shipped them out on Friday. Leak tests on spray patterns were all good before and after cleaning. The static flow was 92.5/93/95/94 before and 95/95/95/95 after. The pulsed flow was 94/96.5/98/96 before and 98/98/98.5/98 after. So my balance went from 4.1% to 0.5%. These were injectors that had been in the car for 180k miles with extended non-operation periods and mostly Costco regular gas. The most impressive was that they put in the package a baggie with all the parts they replace (o-rings top and bottom, filter baskets and little end caps). They looked so pretty and new that they would not have been out of place in the Getty museum.
