seems to me like a fouled or defective sparkplug. What you're doing is essentially increasing the firing voltage of the plug. There is only one coil on your car so it's not the coil if one cylinder is misfiring.

I doubt if you have a sticky valve with your compression readings.
At this point I would switch some injectors around and see if #4 misfire moves to the cylinder with #4 injector now on it.

One other thing....it IS possible to get a bad distributor cap. One time on my 84 SOHC I changed out the distributor cap and rotor at the scheduled time (car ran fine before but WTH) and had problems. Drove me nuts until I went back and put the OLD distributor cap back on and it ran fine. At that point I simply returned the new one and got a replacement under warranty and the new one ran fine. The crazy thing was I couldn't find any visible fault with the faulty new one!
