WAAAAAAIT!
The accumulator will more often cause problems with hot starts.
If your 8 valve 900 starts and then idles around stalling and everything else is working and adjusted properly, it's the idle control valve. They die with age. My 900 started fine, ran for around 30 seconds, then I had to keep pushing down the gas pedal (three pedals, two feet, fun!) to keep her running until the temp needle entered the green range.
First, spray some penetrating oil into the idle valve. I find I have to do this every six months or so or it'll cause low idle problems.
When that doesn't work, get one from a junkyard if it looks shiny (otherwise the junked car probably has the same problem since it's been sitting around) or order a new one from Scab or someone better. I got my hands on a new one for around $77 if I remember right.

While you're at it, take off the rubber boot from your air intake and metering assembly, grab some sort of solvent, and clean out the intake around the throttle "butterfly" valve. Also clean (gently) the top of the venturi plate. Oil vapor collects on the top of that plate, weighing it down. Your fuel injection is dependent on the incoming airflow lifting that plate up.
Good luck. Do these things and get back to us. If you need a photo of the idle valve, go to Dana's site or ask for photos here. On Dana's site the idle valve is in the fifth photo from the top "Photo showing warmup fuel regulator on left..."
