Well, I'm using Osram 130/100 bulbs in my 87 900T 16V.
OTOH, I've also got Euro headlight assemblies and using some of Stern's H4 headlight terminals.

Chances are the 9004 series 100/80W bulbs are in your car. The terminals on the 9004 series bulbs are pretty small relative to the H4....increasing the power by 50% or so normally won't hurt but on the 9004 bulb will probably cook the stock connectors.

To fix it I'd just get new connectors from the dealer and a new headlight relay or get a used relay from saabsavior.com

Notwithstanding other comments on the board, I NEVER twist and wrap connections...if you're going to make a connection, twist and SOLDER and then wrap or otherwise insulate the splice.
