The wire has everywhere else to flex besides the section that's soldered. IF the wire is too short, or too long and is unsupported otherwise and flexes a lot, possibly it will break after long long usage next to a soldered joint AT A TERMINAL, but then again, it would break next to a crimp at the same place.
DO however be careful not to over-solder so much it wicks up the braiding inside the insulation and stiffens a long secion.
Generally, modern auto makers support wire correctly, wrap it in tape or inside wire loom, run it with enough slack but no long unsupported loops of single wire, so it doesn't strain or vibrate enough to break.
Re-wiring and patch jobs by some of us, however, might not be so well thought out.
